Adding Page Numbers to Groups when Drilling Down

Problem: A report has been created utilizing groups and it allows the report user to "drilldown" to display only the information applicable to that group. However, the page number does not appear when drilling down.

Solution: Set up a group footer that is suppressed in the main report but displayed when drilling down. Furthermore, setup that group footer to print at the bottom of each page.

1. Below is a representation of a report that displays employees by department (the report is grouped on department)

   

2. Right click over Group Footer #1 to activate the pop-up menu as shown below. Select "Section Expert".

   

3. The section expert dialog will appear as shown below.

   

4. Click the located to the right of Supress (No Drill-Down).

   

5. Enter: "DrillDownGroupLevel=0" as shown below and then click button.

   

6. Note the button has now changed colors to . Check the next to "Print at Bottom of Page", this will cause the group to print at the bottom of each and every page. Click OK and then preview the report!
