Course Offerings

Keptin Consulting Services offers courses via Milaca Continuing Education during the Fall and Winter terms. Below is a list of courses which are typically offered. All course enrollments will give you free membership to learning materials located at our Online Learning Modules website.

Building and Manging Websites - Level 1

Six Hours: Three - two hour sessions

Introduction to managing your website with cpanel, basic website design, basic principles, HTML (hyper text markup Language), creating links, displaying images, changing font, colors and using tables to layout our pages.

Building Websites - Level 2

Six Hours: Three - two hour sessions

Requires knowledge covered in Level 1. Using style sheets, positioned content and JavaScript to enhance your site.

Building Websites - Level 3

Four Hours: Two - two hour sessions

Managing your site with Drupal, a leading content manager without having to know the ins and outs of HTML. Basic HTML knowledge is required for this course and you should have the knowledge gained from Level 1 and 2.

E-commerce/E-Marketing

One three hour session

Leveraging the Internet to promote your business, how to accept online payments without a merchant account (using PayPal) and how to market your business online. Includes discussion on linking and keyword stratgies to improve your placement within search engines. This course assumes you already or you will soon have a website. Students taking and of the Building Website classses are highly encouraged to enroll.

Using GIMP To Manipulate Graphics

Six Hours: Three - two hour sessions

GIMP is a free graphics manipulation tool available for both Windows and Mac at http://www.gimp.org. This course will cover how to use the program to edit digital images (from your camera or those scanned in), how to create images and how to manipulate them (resize, crop, enhance, etc.) for either printing, emailing or including on a website. It will not cover how to use a digital camera or transfer your images off of it. It is highly recommended that students who are new to website design or enrollees in Website 1, 2 or 3 also take this course.
